If You're Miserable At Work, Open This Email

As I’ve ramped up episodes of The New Unfiltered, I’ve been learning a lot about what you feel inspired and empowered by. I’ve equally been learning a lot about what my guests feel driven by. For many, it was a gut intuition that they had to build a company. Tyler Denk (who founded the platform you’re reading this on!) left a lucrative career at Morning Brew to start Beehiiv. Gail Becker who founded CAULIPOWER (some of my favorite pizza, ever) left a corporate job and got into serious debt with two young sons to make frozen pizza. Leaving a corporate job was the best decision Gail said she’s ever made. Kym Gold sold True Religion for $800M but built it for 10 years and essentially lived out of a car and credit cards.

So the question is quite simple. What drives you?

As I’ve started interviewing people every day again I’ve been asking myself this question quite a lot too. It’s quite odd when I think about it. For 10 years I’ve woken up every single day and pursued this business. I landed a show on Disney using the media list I recently released, I started hosting college summits, and I’ve maintained a pretty solid workout and morning routine even during the moments along the way I’ve been broke. Yet every single day I’ve woken up and filled my day with work between inspiring you to be fearless with my social media content, this newsletter, branded TV content and, Be Fearless Summit. Because what drives me is you.

So the question is really quite simple. What drives you?

Tyler Denk joins The New Unfiltered and has a few things to say about raising $12.5M dollars. He also makes me really want to code.
