If you’ve struggled with work/life balance, today’s newsletter is for you. I’ll be honest, I’ve never struggled with this because I’ve always been religious about balancing my life.

Ways to maintain balance that you’ve heard time and time again:

Workout, don’t stay at a 9-5 job you hate, go to therapy, meditate, breath

But since you’re reading this newsletter to get tips you won’t hear from everyone, I want to tell you the nitty-gritty of how to build a business, keep your head down, and avoid distractions while enjoying your life.

First and foremost, you truly only have one life to live. If you’re living paycheck to paycheck, multitasking like a m’fer, building multiple businesses at once while maintaining your day job, and juggling a family/relationship, and struggling, you need to dial your life back. The simplest way to do this is to remove your distractions.

While I was in LA the past few weeks, I realized how distracted I’ve been over the past few months. Between renting out my apartment while I travel and constantly stressing about who’s in my place, to balancing building my new business while maintaining a client whose company I consult on AND Dare To Be Fearless, I’m waking up and going to bed distracted.

What caused me to become uber aware of the number of distractions in my life has been launching my newest company, Chief Swag Officer. I’ll get into more about Chief Swag below, but launching an e-commerce business has thrown my life into a different roller coaster that I’m thrilled to have bought a one-way ticket to.

The way I operate my personal life is now the way I operate my business life: with a fleshed-out and thorough work stream. I’m officially a spreadsheet girly and use Notion like never before.

You have to be conscious that this flow gets out of wack sometimes: being flexible will help you avoid anxiety when you feel like your work/life balance is out of control.

You most likely don’t realize how distracted you are by the guy/girl who isn’t texting you back (block them), your sibling who you’re in a fight with, the person who has completely ghosted you via email because you’re so distracted by the DISTRACTION that it’s preventing you from moving on.

What’s the simplest way to say cut the crap, look in the mirror, and get a grip on your life without saying that? Cut the crap fearlessly?

The only way you’re going to win this game is to be aware of your distractions, remove them when necessary and get back on the horse ASAP.

OVERCOME YOUR FEAR OF REJECTION WITH COLD CALLING!

When your idea turns into the #1 selling microphone cover in the world.

I’m a firm believer that the most successful founders become successful because they started a company that was based off of a product they needed. I’ve been secretly building Chief Swag Officer for the past few months even though I had the idea quite some time ago, which shows you that timing is everything.

It took me close to 12 months to understand how to manufacture this product, build an Etsy shop, and work in the e-commerce space. I couldn’t have launched this business last year because I didn’t have the building blocks required to get this type of a company up and running.

I’ll be posting more about the new company over the next weeks, but this is all I have for now to give you a taste of what’s been happening!
