ALEXA’S TIPS FOR STARTING A PODCAST!

  1. Aside from getting custom microphone covers to stand out on social media…duh…

  2. Use a platform like Libsyn or Riverside to publish and upload your show.

  3. Before you launch any form of a podcast, you must have 5-10 episodes “in the bank” which means edited and ready to go. This is very important for new show hosts because editing and podcast production takes quite a while, so you’ll want to be ahead of your show before it airs every week.

  4. Want to get sponsored? Get some pitch templates here to copy and paste how I cold pitch brands.

  5. The more “famous” your guest is, the higher your show numbers will be. When you’re starting off, don’t get too caught up in how many downloads you have, but know that the number of downloads is what brands will look for when partnering with you.

  6. People who go into podcasting expecting to make a lot of money or become really famous won’t be successful. You need to be in this game for the long run, because it’s not a project that you can try and give up on fast.
