3 Ways To Make $$ Off Of Your Brand⚡
Hey Fearless Friend!
Today on Stay Fearless or Die Trying:
How to make your personal brand work for you
…and resources to get $!
Someone’s gotta make some $$!
I know it’s not all about the money! Most personal brands start as passion projects from people that tire of the typical 9-5 life. The best way to be comfortable and happy with your personal brand as your day job is…when that side hustle makes you money! I could list the obvious examples like “start a podcast” or “run a subscription service” but I’m not here to state the obvious. These tips below come from years of running my personal brand, so stay fearless or die trying - am I right?
1. Utilize your expertise:
There are lots of ways to make money off of what you know! People are dying for information from experts, and you should use your brand as a channel for your expertise.
Make an online course: Whether it’s for sale on your website or you use a platform like Teachable or Skillshare, you can run a course on your area of expertise. Make classes for consumers to get an idea of your brand, of your specialty, and give them a chance to gain some knowledge! My personal brand e-course (get it here) is a solid starting point.
Write an e-book: Not a fan of IRL discussions?! Take some time to write down all the great things you know about your brand that other people could find useful. Tips and tricks, how-tos, and personal success stories always resonate with. These all can be transformed into an e-book that people will pay to read! You can offer it on Amazon, or on your website. Trello is a free service that helps you organize your thoughts from beginning to end on this process, and Draft2Digital is a great resource for e-book formatting once it’s written.
Host webinars: Similar to online courses, webinars are a great way to use your knowledge to pay your bills. Webinars are kind of like a live online course, where people can ask questions, give feedback, and listen/watch live. Plus, you’ll be building your community as well. This could even be a stepping stone to an online course, recording webinars and selling them later does a dual purpose! You can sell tickets for your webinars on your website or offer them with a subscription service. Zoom is a way to record these but sites like Livestorm and On24 can give you marketing resources and specific tools for your webinar needs.
2. Offer branded experiences:
Speaking from experience here! The success of my Be Fearless Summit is a big driver for this piece of advice. Hosting summits, retreats, and events is a great way to grow your community, make connections, and get hype around your brand. Reach out to schools, parks and rec departments of local towns, and even local libraries when looking for a place to start your event journey. Organizing speakers, having Q&A sessions, and interactive programs can elevate your event to the next level. In the world of health and wellness? See if you can partner with a hotel to offer a retreat/getaway! Eventbrite is a great tool to plan and sell tickets for your event.
3. Partner up!
Some of the most successful personal brands make money by partnering up with other brands. It’ll surprise you how many companies are looking for community members to hype up their products. It is important to stay in tune with your market and research companies and products that your customer base is interacting with. This is where leveraging your expertise and your community reach come in handy. Since I’m the queen of cold calling…
Put aside time in your schedule to reach out to companies and pitch partnerships with them. Some may turn out to be paid, but sometimes it’ll just result in you getting free stuff! Either way, you’re flexing your cold-calling muscles and putting your brand on these companies’ radars. Look below for some cold email examples I’ve sent recently!
Here’s an example of 3 cold emails I’ve sent out in the past few days.
I hope this helps some of you who are looking for new opportunities. 😊
