Plus, Alexa's Favorite July Startups

Hello from Alexa!

Good morning Fearless fam! I mentioned last week that I’d be moving this newsletter to Saturday mornings to see if the open rate increases. If you like Stay Fearless or Die Trying, I’m working on a referral program so you can get rewarded the next time you forward this newsletter along. Stay tuned!

Rejection is an inevitable part of life. Whether it's a job application, a romantic interest, or a creative endeavor, everyone faces rejection at some point. While rejection can be disheartening and challenging to deal with, it doesn't have to define our lives. Instead of letting it hinder our progress, we can use rejection as an opportunity for growth and self-improvement. In this blog post, we'll explore three powerful ways to counteract rejection and come out stronger on the other side.

This week, I pitched a sponsorship and was rejected. Within 24 hours, I heard back from another company interested in a similar sponsorship. I posted a video with the brand on YouTube to inspire you to bounce back faster than before the next time you embark on something after getting rejected. Every no is a yes in 2 years and sometimes 2 days!

One of the most vital skills we can develop to counteract rejection is resilience. Resilience allows us to bounce back from setbacks, remain flexible in the face of adversity, and maintain a positive outlook even in challenging circumstances. When faced with rejection, it's natural to feel hurt, disappointed, or even demotivated. However, it's essential not to let these emotions consume us. In the face of rejection, it's easy to become disheartened and question your abilities. This is the time you continue reaching out to people, pitching brands, or emailing your dream mentor. You won’t get that next yes unless you work for it!

Bilt credit card- getting told about this credit card is the best thing I got out of my ex-boyfriend! If you pay rent or a mortgage and don’t have this card, you’re missing out. I pay my rent to my landlord monthly on Venmo and Bilt allows you to connect a specific routing number to your Venmo or Zelle. Plus you get a sexy black credit card you can link to your building portal to pay your rent. No fees for paying the rent on Venmo or through the portal AND no annual fee. Keep an eye on the APR: if you don’t pay the card off, the APR is high.

inKind is one of my favorite startups with a base in Austin, Texas! This app pays you to go out to dinner. Sounds too good to be true, right? I did some digging on the backend and inKind is an investment company for restaurants so when they invest in a restaurant they get 100s of 1000s of credits back to give to people to download the app. Who doesn’t love free food!?
